First - assess the project scope

Current site is being migrated from the NetSuite theme to the Oracle theme to solve these core problems:

Components are breaking with every product update.

Isn’t it a technical problem?

Content is hard to find.

Project Goals

increase usability of SuiteCentral site by making content more discoverable. Acceptance Criteria:

Stakeholder agreement that content is structured in a logical manner.

User journey improvement as measured by fewer clicks.

Note that there is no reporting available for baseline measurement.

Page load speed on future site is better than current site.

Milestones & deadline:

Audit of components within current site.

I suspect there are multiple components that have the same function, whether navigation, filtering, or searching. These should be slimmed down, generally the fewer components the better.

Audit of current site/theme to Oracle theme.

With the list of slimmed down components, these need to be mapped to test site.

Identification of component gaps, where one is not created.

Figma as the main design-to-development tool should be utilized.

Resources available:

Project artifacts are not available.

There are no flowcharts, meeting notes, or otherwise to capture decisions made for the current site.

Supporting team:

There are two different teams to answer questions like “Will BDR’s want to view content under Solution Consultant?”

Project leader for current site.

Various sales leadership – these are content SME’s, individuals who will know about respective department information. I will help coordinate.

CES team will support the platform on the testing environment.

CES Team leader expectation is that he will review the keystone components you identify in your audit and check the test site and by mid Jan.

First thing is to find 100% redundant page

Then go page-by-page and assess the content redundancy

It turned out there are not so many templates as it seemed first…

Arghhh! Mega-menu. What can we do about it? Well, maybe turn it into a more manageable side menu?..

...or maybe add filters to it?..

Time to make it look like an Oracle UI. How? By finding the suitable component replacements. A. Navigation.
